Kanger Subox Review (Starter Kit) | Video from Everyday Vaper

What’s in the box

  • Kanger Subox Mini Box Mod (Kbox Mini)
  • Kanger Subtank
  • 0.5 ohm OCC head
  • 1.5 ohm OCC head
  • RBA (Re-buildable Atomiser) Deck
  • Delrin Drip Tip with standard 510 fitting
  • Screwdriver, screws and spare coil
  • USB charging cable
  • Japanese Cotton for wicking

The construction of the Kbox is a lightweight ceramic construction with a maximum output of 50w and fires down to 0.3ohm so perfect for sub-ohm vaping!

Without a doubt the design is really stylish with this black and red version, there is also a very stylish white version available.

It is very simple to use so ideal for those new to vaping and the size is very small so great for those not looking to carry a large mod like the Innokin MVP 3.

The Subtank included in this starter kit is a newer version than previously sold separately and contains some improvements including a dual airflow with a small hole on each side. You cannot close the airflow at all on this. The airflow in the closed position is great for mouth to lung inhaling and when the airflow is open it is perfect for direct lung inhale.

The RBA also has some differences with a screw on the side.

Kanger have also included an instructions booklet which describes the different wattage ranges and VG/PG ratios that are suitable for each OCC head which states the following:

  • OCC 0.5ohm, direct lung inhale from 15W to 50W
  • OCC 1.5ohm, mouth to lung inhale from 10W to 26W

Safety features include short circuit protection, battery protection, battery door has air vents to ensure heat circulation when in use and there is a 10 second limit on the fire button which is enough for most people.

There is no 18650 battery included so this does need to purchased separately. It is recommended to purchase a branded battery that is 20A or above. If you have never used these types of batteries previously then do take the time to read up on the safety and how to use them.

Remember to “prime” the wicks on the coils before using them, all you need to do is squeeze a few drops of liquid so it soaks into the wicks before then adding your e-Liquid to the tank.

Kangertech have made an excellent device that delivers flavour and performance so you will not be disappointed.

Some issues we did find that it was disappointing to find no spare O rings or a spare pyrex glass included with the starter kit which you usually find when you purchase a Subtank separately. There is a slight fault where the device would not work at times depending on the angle that you hold it. The magnets are not very strong and have fallen off at times and the buttons do a feel a bit wobbly as well. These issues could vary from device to device though.
